I have not read the book and do have question marks with some of your statements in an intruiging post. Its a complex matter in a complex world. Nothing happens in isolation. You mentioned Afghanistan. I lived there for 3 years. And I feel ashamed what we have done to this beautiful country. But again, its a complex setting. Main players, main interests, money, greed. Only little of it to do with religion.
