I struggle to break the ancestral codes, but it is better than what it was years ago.

My auntie walked out of our lives 50+ years ago. Never to be seen or heard from ever again.

She left a whole in my heart. But I believe she made this choice because she had no other. I grew up with a broken image of family and envied most of my friends for their's. Until I started noticing the brokenness in their systems, too.

It is a long journey, Rebecca, and it takes courage to step up at times. But we're here to do exactly that.
